DUNDAS VALLEY ORCHESTRA

Representing the DVO at the Dundas Cactus Festival will be a group of string players music from the string orchestra. There are a few surprises planned as well, with woodwind and brass players involved.

Founded in 1978, the Dundas Valley Orchestra provided a place for amateur performers to play classical music. Over the years, the DVO has grown into an active group of 80 musicians bringing classical music to the greater Dundas area.
With St Paul’s United Church as our home, the DVO performs 3 concerts per season, providing those that love music an opportunity to hear a full orchestra play classics, show tunes, jazz and many other types of music. Live streaming our performances allows those that cannot attend our concerts the opportunity to listen and enjoy the music, over and over again, at their leisure.

Our upcoming season includes music inspired by the stars with the Hamilton Amateur Astronomers, a concert celebrating Black History Month and performing Mahler’s Fourth Symphony. Look at our website for details.

Due to the size of the DVO, visiting retirement, nursing homes and other venues is difficult. To address this concern, over the past few years, the DVO has established many small ensembles, ranging is size from duets to Salon and Chamber orchestras, all playing various types of music.
