Midnight Hombres are 5 Canadian musicians performing a mariachi / tex mex influenced rock show with storytelling songs about life and love. “The masked hombre” is Hamilton singer/songwriter Allen Helsdon.

The idea was first conceived in 2016, songs were written and recording eventually started in summer 2017. By the beginning 0f 2018 a 5 song demo was finished up. The band and their songs were well received at a showcase in April 2018. Helsdon says the lyrical content and flowing melodies of the songs come from experiencing the joy of mariachi first hand from trips to Mexico…and a love of Clint Eastwood westerns!

Eventually member changes were made and the current line-up has been playing regularly in 2019. The most notable addition is Helsdon’s former band mate Latin Jazz guitarist Eddie Paton who’s resume includes Sultans of String and Robert Michaels to name just a couple. Along with another former band mate bassist Steve MacAndrew, drummer Donny Ivanco and trumpeter Jordan Tunney a solid group of amigos has been forged!

Shows are entertaining both musically and visually mixing original tunes with some revamped mariachi and classic rock cover songs.

Midnight Hombres serve up one fun and spicy dish of entertainment!!
