Matty Simpson is a world-class guitar player and singer/songwriter based out of Hamilton, Ontario.
With the release of his new full-length album “Strange Weather”, his style has been called an eclectic mix of rock ‘n roll with rhythm and blues; a mixture of the ’70s, ’90s and modern music.
Growing up listening to artists such as Nirvana, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Kate Bush and many other diverse musicians moulded Matty into the artist he is today.
Over his career, Matty has fine-tuned his guitar playing and musicianship. His ability to come up with original compositions and guitar licks that tastefully fit into any tune is an illustration of his musical expertise. with the accompaniment of his bandmates, Justine Fischer (bass) and Matt Burns (drums), Matty’s songs are a testament to the years of devotion to the craft yet their message remains relative to all of his listeners.
His singing and vocal styles, which have been compared to musical greats such as Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder and his soulful melodies and thoughtful chord progressions will have you wanting to listen to his songs on repeat.
